Markverkstad Skaraborg operates in Karlsborg and Såtenäs and is a department within the Army Staff. Markverkstad Skaraborg has about 120 employees, and this position is located at the Fortress in Karlsborg. We primarily perform maintenance on the Armed Forces' ground equipment but also for the air force and navy, as well as providing technical system support. This includes maintenance in the form of inspections, renovations, repairs, manufacturing, disassembly, modifications, and repair technical analyses.

Main Responsibilities

As a weapon technician, you will primarily work with preventive and corrective maintenance/repairs of weapons and optics. You will be part of a team of 16 employees and report to the Weapon Detail Manager. Since the department also supports other units in Sweden with support and maintenance, some travel is included in the position, about 40 days per year.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Two or three-year technical high school education or equivalent as assessed by the employer
• Driver's license B
• General computer skills

You are a team player who works well independently as well as in a group. As a weapon technician, you are structured, determined, and make correct assessments and priorities. You are flexible and can easily shift your focus and adapt in a changing environment. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude towards work and the organization.

MERITORIOUS

• Experience in maintenance of weapons, optics, or precision mechanics.
• Relevant experience working as a technician or mechanic in a similar field
• Experience from the Armed Forces and its routines
• Experience and knowledge of workshop operations and material maintenance in the Armed Forces
• Forklift license
• Driver's license C or CE
